Job Title: Energy Coordinator

The Energy officer will be a field staff, who will be directly dealing with the clients on a daily basis. He/she is responsible for the mobilization, needs energy assessment and disbursement of energy loans for clients. He/she is in charge of disseminating information on energy products as well.

Role:
To mobilize, recruit clients and disburse energy loans to grow the Energy loan product portfolio in line with FINCA Uganda lending methodology.

Key Result Areas:
To mobilize, recruit clients, disburse and recover energy loans in order to grow portfolio, in line with FINCA Uganda credit manual through:
Market drives and sensitization on FU Energy products.
Loan appraisals, disbursement and recovery.
Should be in position to disburse at least 6 energy loans a month, of an average loan size of shs. 500,000. Hence, a total portfolio of atleast shs. 18,000,000 in six months.
Marketing materials.
Weekly visits to group meetings and create awareness to non clients.

 1.  To train clients about FINCA Uganda Energy Products in line with FINCA Uganda lending policies and procedures.

To assess the clients energy needs by:
Analyzing clients energy expenditure
Advise clients on best available energy options.
Communications
Maintain constant communication with branch staff  specifically Loan officers in the specific areas of Mobilization.
Attend Weekly Group meetings.
Constantly communicate with Micro Energy Coordinator, Branch Manager and ARS  on any issues rising at the branch in regard to the energy products.
Customer care
Liaise with Technical supplier and ensure that installations are done on time.
Being sensitive to customers needs without portraying a negative image of F/U without compromising policies.
Serving F/U customers with a smile.
To prepare  monthly sales reports.
To provide a written monthly progress/status report to the Micro Energy Coordinator  and Brach Manager on Monthly sales, challenges and recommended reviews on the energy program.

Qualifications:
A University degree in a related field, and basic knowledge in Solar PV technology.
Abilities and Personal Qualities:
Ability to interpret solar quotations.
Ability to work as a team player in diverse cultures.
Ability to work with numbers and having analytical capabilities
Ability to be flexible & spend over 70% of the time in the field with the FINCA branches.
Excellent public relations and communication skills.

Problem solving skills

Level of Authority
Determining appropriate system size to clients as per the needs assessment as  provided in the FU credit policy.
Make recommendations on product and customer care improvements
Make recommendations on marketing and efficient delivery of services to customers

Key Relationships:
Internally relate with all staff at the regional Office in day-to-day operations of the region
Externally relate with all stake holders on a regular basis as far as quality of services provided to them is concerned in a coordinated manner through the Micro energy coordinator.

Pursue a Business Lending Credit Manager at FINCA

Job Title: Business Lending Credit Manager

Responsibilities
The Credit Manager, Business Lending will be accountable for:
Work on a daily basis with the staff in the branches in close coordination with the respective RM.
Make sure every branch staff understands his/her role in the BL Credit Manual (i.e. BL LOs, BL SPV, BM, CCO, BOS and teller) by holding meetings, giving individual explanations and granting individual training
Mentor LOs on the loan analysis handbook by accompanying them at business and home visits, and other activities (such as follow-up and confiscation). Make sure LOs fully understand the loan analysis and are able to carry-out high quality assessments and well excellent loan proposals to the credit committee.
Mentor the SPV and BM to assure they are able comply with their responsibilities, in particular their archiving, supervision and credit committee chairing role
Be present in the CC to assure high quality CCs and good decision making, i.e. a active and critical level of discussion, compliance with approval ratios and understanding of the graduation principle (of rewarding and punishing depending on the credit history)
Make sure the BL Credit Manual is well maintained and all BMs know how to coordinate all the feedback from the field staff for the policy update.
Make sure BMs, SPVs and LOs use the BL Credit Manual as a working basis.
Make sure all documents and forms which are required according to the BL Credit Manual are available to the respective branch staff in all branches. Interact with the administration department in case of problems to solve shortcomings. All BMs need to have a softcopy of all documents and forms on their computers and have to be able to print them.
Supervise and control compliance to the BL Credit Manual by every branch staff; especially by LOs in regards to loan analysis and proposal, and by SPV and BMs in regards to approval restrictions (ratios), supervision duties, handover, clustering, archiving and SAS (PAR) and all other duties described in the BL Credit Manual
Discuss and gather feedback for policy improvement with the branch staff and RM; channel the feedback to the COO for product improvement
Control efficiency and effectiveness of the IL Credit Manual in the field and propose improvements to COO
Identifying staffing needs and coordinating with the HRM and actively participating in the recruitment process for IL credit staff as either part of the hiring committee and/or hiring approval process
Coordinating with the Training Manager to build credit staff competency, designing courses and conducting training where required
Develop strategies for portfolio growth and client outreach in existing and new regions.
Other duties may be assigned where appropriate.

Supervisory Responsibility
For credit related issues/initiatives, the Credit Manager, Business Lending closely works with Regional Managers and/or Branch Managers to ensure first-rate implementation and performance of FINCA UGANDA IL credit operations.  The Credit Manager, Business Lending will evaluate Branch Managers on their performance related to credit Committee responsibilities and operations.  In this context, the Credit Manager, Business Lending will be required to provide guidance and support in all areas of credit including technical aspects to enable credit staff to properly oversee the implementation of products and deliver on actual product performance (Growth and PAR).

Qualifications
5 years of relevant experience, 3 of which in banking and credit development focused
Strong credit analysis skills and experience
Exposure to microfinance

Education & Experience                                                
Bachelors Degree in Business, MBA a plus
Language Skills
Fluency in English
Computer Skills                                          
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Ensure the IL credit policy is up-to-date, understood by all employees, and properly implemented.
Develop specific key market growth and outreach strategies and work with the COO (Head of Business) , Regional Managers, and Branch Managers to implement.

Job Title: Collections Officer

The Collections Officer will be responsible for the direct collection of delinquent loans.  S/he will also ensure efficient follow-up of severe cases of arrears of loan repayment.

Deliverables

- Responsible for devising collections and recoveries
- Remain in regular contact with clients to establish why their accounts are out of order, and agreeing to strategies to bring the accounts back in order in the shortest time possible.

Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s in Economics, Business, Accounting Statistics, Law or other relevant field.
- 3 years’ experience in Debt Recovery in a reputable Bank, Microfinance Bank, other Financial Institution or Debt Collection firm.

As well as a thorough understanding of international cooperation (IC) and international donor structures in the energy and climate sectors, you also have a very good knowledge of GIZ and its long-term corporate strategy. As a manager, a high degree of self-organisation is one of your assets. You respond flexibly to change, are patient and have an in-depth understanding of intercultural issues, which has a positive impact on your interaction with other stakeholders. In addition, you are always keen to update your knowledge on energy and climate topics. You are confident in business German and English.
