Reporting to the Head of Programmes, the Marketing Consultant is responsible for supporting the Programmes Department through the management of the Institute’s external communications. This involves regular updating of Institute’s website and social media pages, as well as through the design and distribution of new promotional materials to the Institute’s large professional network, including bi-weekly target email, annual brochures, an updated promotional/ informational video, capacity statement, billboard advertisements, newsletters, press releases, newspaper advertisements, amongst other marketing tools. The Marketing Consultant will also monitor the Institute’s activities to ensure that they are being effectively marketed.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from a recognized institution, as well as a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in the area of marketing in a regional or international organisation. Knowledge in database management will be an added advantage. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, the Programme Administrator assists in the planning, design and implementation of training programmes at the Institute. • Helps resolve any general accounting queries on request by sourcing information from the system
• Provides support during internal and project audits by availing requested documentation on the Dynamics system and makes monthly reconciliation of fuel stocks for fleet and generators.
• Enters mileage recharges for the fleet across different projects
• Monthly reconciliation of Bank and petty cash accounts balances.
• Maintains and ensures the safe custody of financial records and documents.
• Deposits bankings and collects cash

Qualifications and experience:
  • The post will suit an individual who has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
  • At least two years’ experience working in a busy accounts environment in an international or research organization.
  • Working knowledge of MS Dynamics Navision ERP packages is desirable.
  • People and financial management skills and a high degree of numeracy is required

  • Participate in the preparation of guidelines, in collaboration with relevant government agencies, on evaluation and approval of off-grid renewable energy projects.
  • Participate in the preparation of short to long term development plans for implementation of the off-grid programme
  • Research on and propose incentive mechanisms for facilitating the dissemination of appropriate technologies and their uptake.
  • In collaboration with the Community Outreach Officer, sensitize the rural communities and local entrepreneurs and develop their capacity to participate in rural energy electrification investments and service provision.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualification and Experience:
A good Bachelors degree in Engineering or Physics from a recognised university
A post graduate qualification in Engineering or Physics with a bias in renewable energy or demonstrated post-graduate research in renewable energy will be an added advantage. A demonstrated working experience with GIS will be an added an added advantage. Experience in project formulation and management will be an added advantage
At least 6 years working experience in busy public or private or research institutions in the field of renewable energy.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
