Minimum Qualifications and Working Experience:

• Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honour’s Bachelor’s Degree in either Civil/Water Engineering or Geology or Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) or its equivalent plus a minimum of Post Graduate Diploma in Water Resources Engineering/Hydrology/Hydrogeology or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
• Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years relevant working experience three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Principal Officer in the water sector in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.

Duties:

• Participating in the formulation and review of Water Resources Policies, Laws and Regulations.
• Ensuring compliance to standards related to national and trans -boundary Water Resources use and protection.
• Participating in preparation and implementation of national plans for regulation and maintenance of water reservoirs and lakes.
• Participating in monitoring and enforcing compliance to the Water Act and Regulations.
• Participating in the review of environmental impact assessments related to water resources projects.
• Participating in the development of awareness raising and Communication Strategies for water resources regulation.
• Providing technical advice, support supervision and training to stakeholders engaged in management of water resources.
• Participating in management, administration and networking of the department
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
