Minimum Qualifications And Working Experience:

• Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honour’s Bachelor’s Degree in either Mass Communication or Arts or Social Sciences or Business Administration (Management option)plus a minimum of aPost Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication, or Journalism or a related field from a recognized University/Institution.
• Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience at the level of Communications Officer or its equivalent in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization with significant responsibility for the public advocacy.
• He/She should have knowledge of Public advocacy theory and practices;
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to a wide range of audiences and willing to travel around the country frequently.

Duties:
• Coordinating advocacy efforts aimed at all sectors of civil society in order to encourage demand driven pressures on Meteorology service delivery as a means of enhancing the
• Performance of the Ministry of Water and Environment.
• Participating in the preparation of the budget plans.
• Developing required advocacy materials in print and electronic form
• Developing programs that encourage public advocacy for meteorology matters.
• Developing liaisons and networks with the media, public interest groups, Trade Unions,
• Civil Society Organizations, NGOs and Local Governments as channels of public expectations for meteorology service delivery.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
